Muscle injuries

Common injuries

Shoulder injuries: these can be caused by overuse, poor sitting/working habits, big stress on the tendons and muscles
I met very often with sore, tight rhomboid problems, levator scapulae problems. Shoulders and neck muscles are often very tight they need 3-4 treatment to fix the pain. Change your sitting habits and take short breaks while you are working on the computer!
Hamstrings injuries: often occur during sport activities. Sports massage techniques and remedial massage techniques help to recover from injured muscle fibres. PNF stretch is used to enlighten the tight muscles.

How often do I have to see my massage therapist?

Posted by admin on Apr 18, 2010

I suggest to clients to see me once in every three-four weeks. If they have serious chronic pain for years, they should come for massage every 10 days, have 7-8 treatments for their problem. Please consider that every case is unique, before every treatment the treatment plan is updated with the healing progress. The treatment plan is like a “roadmap of your healing process”. Clients have to follow my guidance on what kind of physical activities they will attend to. This is something very important and without cooperation from patients I can’t achieve good results. Usually improvements are visible after the first two treatment, but this does not mean that the musclo-skeleto system is healed. Your perseverance and cooperation it will be the most important step in the healing process.

Relaxation Massage benefits

Posted by admin on Feb 23, 2010

I had success treating starting disc prolapse problem, chronic neck pain, starting oedema condition, chronic shoulder pain, bicipital tendonitis, also I treated well insomnia and depression by Relaxation massage. Mostly using lavender essential oil mixed with grape seed carrier oil. My oils are 100% natural and NOT water based. It is recommended to leave couple of hours on your skin after the treatment to have maximum healing effect. Clients with different needs can have special prepared oils also. Please let me know your needs when you are booking for an appointment. Be informed that if you suffer from chronic diseases as cancer in order to treat you I will need an approval letter from your GP or specialist stating that the massage is recommended in your case. The letter needs to be on letterhead, stamped and signed by the doctor (GP or specialist) with the date and stating anything important to your treatment and medical case.

Relaxation Massage is NOT SEX Massage

Posted by admin on Feb 23, 2010

Relaxation Massage is a strong healing, relaxing massage, with long slow strokes. Unfortunately some people are confused about the treatment and thinking that relaxation massage means sexual massage. This is totally wrong and it is embarrassing for me if they are asking for this kind of “services”. Unfortunately this is a thing that it relates to the early stages of massage here in Australia, when clients were offered at the end also other services.
Relaxation Massage IS NOT A DODGY SEX MASSAGE! It heals you!

What to do after Remedial Massage?

What to do after Remedial Massage?

Feeling bruised is normal after the massage the next 24 hours you may feel muscle pain in the treated area.
My advice to drink water, at least 6-8 cups in order to eliminate the lactic acid and toxins from the muscle. Please, don’t do hard jobs, avoid gardening, lifting, housework! If you not follow my instructions, you may end up with sever muscle cramps!
At the 3rd day after the massage you should feel better, you may have more movement in the treated area. My experience that chronic muscle pain is fixed within 5-6 treatments, (if you had the pain more than 4 weeks) sometimes 1 treatment is sufficient to fix the problem!

Thoughts how to treat lower back problems with Remedial Massage

Lower back pain: Remedial massage treats well the lower back pain. Usually the Quadratus Lumborum muscle causes the pain, trigger point therapy and myofascial release are very useful for this problem.
